Your skin
How well do you know your skin?
Your skin is very special: it protects you from external influences around the clock and lets you feel touch. To be able to support it, it is important to know its needs. This is the only way you can choose the right care for you. We can tell you everything you need to know about your skin.
YOUR SKIN
How your skin is made up
Essentially, your skin is made up of three layers: The epidermis, dermis and subcutis. The skin pigment melanin is produced in the epidermis and protects your skin from UV rays. Below this lies the dermis. In addition to sensory cells, sebaceous and sweat glands are also located here, which protect your skin from drying out. The third layer of skin is the subcutis. It is mainly made up of connective and fatty tissue and protects against impact.
YOUR PROTECTION
How your skin barrier protects you
The skin barrier is your skin's natural protective shield and fends off unwanted external invaders. It is also responsible for the water balance of your skin and ensures that it remains elastic and smooth. Plenty of moisture is therefore essential for an intact skin barrier so that it continues to maintain its function.
INFLUENCES ON YOUR SKIN
What influences your skin
Cold, heat, the sun, chemical substances in clothing and much more are daily challenges for your skin. But diet, hormonal fluctuations, stress and the natural ageing process also influence its condition. While not all influences can be completely avoided, it is important to recognise changes in your skin to respond accordingly – for example, by changing your eating habits or adjusting your skin care routine.
